What Makes the Chandler Center for the Arts Unique?
Superb Acoustical Setting Designed by Dr. Wendell Rossman of RSGS Architects, the Center is an acoustical masterpiece, providing a superb quality of sound for live performances. Patrons and artists alike have hailed the Center’s acoustics as being among the best in the country and world.
A Unique Turntable Design provides the Center with three stages for productions. The turntable design allows two sections of seating in the rear of the main auditorium to rotate 180 degrees to face two more intimate stages. The most remarkable feature of the system is that the walls between the separate performance areas prevent sound interference so three productions can run simultaneously.
The Exhibition Hall offers dozens of free exhibits each year that are open to the public and represent a wide range of artistic mediums and cultural origins.
The Arts Pass program provides free tickets to charitable organizations to distribute to individuals who might otherwise be unable to engage in the arts. The Arts Pass program serves 2,000-3,000 underserved citizens each year.
The Vision Kidz Workshop Series at the Vision Gallery is a free workshop series taught by professional artists to children, affording them early exposure to the visual arts and the opportunity to create their own masterpiece. It is one of the only such free programs of arts education for children. More than 1,500 children benefit each year from the Vision Kidz Workshops.
The Free Summer Concert Series is an annual series of free concerts that has been enjoyed by the public since 1996.
The Community Performing Arts Connection (C-PAC) Launched in 2007, C-PAC provides free student performances, workshops and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for members of the community to work closely with professional performing artists. C-PAC is about building bridges and creating connections throughout our community. By making theatre, music, and dance opportunities available to local schools, seniors, families and community organizations, we fulfill our mission of serving as a creative driving force and educational resource for the community.
