Youth Advisory Council Program

Program Objectives
Teens focus on Arts Appreciation, Community Service & Leadership Skills in order to become advocates for the arts and well rounded community leaders.
Program
The teen candidates that are selected will serve as CCA Advisory Council for the year. They will be engaged in experiential 3-hour sessions from October to April that will provide hands-on real world leadership situations of a Performing Arts Center. Teens will complete the program with increased knowledge of: career opportunities, financial responsibility, leadership skills, small and large group dynamics and public relations and marketing.
Personal Investment
The Youth Advisory Council program is free of charge to all participants. Teens are expected to miss no more than 3 sessions during their term as a Youth Advisory Council member. A Certificate of Completion will be given to each teen at the conclusion of the program year and the class list will be prominently displayed in the lobby.
Advisory Council Candidates
Candidates are 13-18 years of age and currently attending a public, private, parochial, charter, or home school in Chandler. Students from surrounding cities are encouraged to apply.
How to Apply
Applications are accepted during August each year. Interviews are conducted in September and a maximum of 15 teens are selected. The program starts in October and concludes in April.

Interviews will be held the week of September 10th. The first YAC session is September 19, 2012.
