Will my old seat location stay the same?
Yes. Even though seat numbers will change as part of the new seating configuration, your seat remains yours in perpetuity. Your plaque will be installed in the same physical location in the theater as before, unless you request a location change (subject to availability). We will verify all existing inscriptions and seat locations during deinstallation and match each to the new seating map.
Can I purchase a new seat?
Yes! Newly available seats may be adopted for $250 each, assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Each adopted seat includes a personalized plaque on the armrest of the new chair.
Can I adopt a seat for a business, organization, or group?
Absolutely. Many supporters choose to adopt seats on behalf of:
• A business
• A nonprofit or community organization
• A school, club, or performance group
• A family or group of friends
• Employees or clients
• A team or department
These inscriptions can feature a business name, tagline (within character limits), or recognition message. Seat adoptions make excellent marketing visibility opportunities and lasting community acknowledgments.
Can I give a seat adoption as a gift or in honor/memory of someone?
Yes. You can dedicate a seat:
• In memory of a loved one
• In honor of a family member, mentor, artist, or teacher
• As a holiday, birthday, graduation, or retirement gift
Just provide the dedication text during purchase.
Can I update my inscription?
Existing donors may request updates before the engraving process begins. New donors will review and approve their inscription at the time of purchase. If you need to revise your text, please contact us by June 30, 2026.
When will the new plaque be installed?
Plaque installation will take place during the final phase of the theater renovation. We will notify all seat holders with a detailed timeline once the installation window is confirmed. After installation, donors may receive a photograph of their plaque and will be invited to view their seat at an upcoming event.
Can I choose the exact seat location I want to adopt?
New seat adopters may select from any available seats shown on our updated seating map. Seats are claimed in real time, and availability may change quickly. Existing adopters automatically retain their original physical seat location.
Is my seat adoption tax-deductible?
In most cases, yes. Seat adoptions support the mission of the Chandler Center for the Arts and may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please consult your tax advisor for details. A donation receipt will be provided.
How long will my plaque remain on the seat?
Adopted seats remain recognized in perpetuity—for as long as the current seating configuration exists. If the theater undergoes future renovations, current adopters will be honored similarly.
How long can I make my inscription?
Plaque size restricts the inscription to approximately two (2) lines, with a limit of 16 characters per line. Our team will help ensure your message fits comfortably and appears clearly.
Can I adopt multiple seats?
Yes. Many donors choose to adopt two or more seats, either together or across different rows. You may dedicate each seat individually or use the same inscription for all.
