Latin GRAMMY nominee, 12-time Austin Music Award winner and 2015 Austin Musician of the Year, Gina Chavez blends the sounds of the Americas with tension and grace. The multi-ethnic, Austin native is a queer, Catholic, internationally-acclaimed Latinx pop artist who is redefining Latin music in Texas and beyond, winding together versatile bilingual verses with cumbia, indie-folk, blues and Latin Pop with personal lyrics inspired by her Latin roots and her life experiences.

She has been featured on NPR’s All Things Considered and has performed a Tiny Desk concert that has had nearly one million views. Chavez's latest album, "La Que Manda," ("The woman in charge") was nominated for a Latin Grammy award for best pop/rock album.

“Chavez’s voice is perfectly suited to reflect all of those experiences and to take us to places where we dare to let our emotional guards down.” (NPR/Felix Contreras)
