Chandler Center for the Arts proudly presents this performance in partnership with West Valley Arts Council as part of its CCA Anywhere Series, a series of virtual performances that you can watch anywhere with your phone, tablet or computer, in your backyard, kitchen, living room or at the park.

Fushicho Daiko is Arizona’s premier and longest running professional performing taiko group. Through performances, workshops, residencies and classes, the organization keeps the ancient musical art form of taiko alive in the Southwest.

In this 50-minute CCA Anywhere performance, learn about the history, cultural significance and mechanics of the massive drums, ranging from one to six feet in diameter. Experience the resounding and meditative beat of taiko, percussion instruments created to be heard over great distances and used as a means of communication. The power and dynamics of taiko have become a mainstay in Japanese celebrations and performing arts across the world.

To enjoy this free performance, registration is required. The link for this performance will be sent to registrants prior to show time on October 8 at 7 p.m.
