A classical concert is rolling into Chandler! The Concert Truck transforms a mobile box truck into a one-of-a-kind concert stage, bringing live music out of the concert hall and into the community.
Stop by the Chandler Museum and enjoy a free live performance featuring pianist Susan Zhang and violinist Alena Hove. Explore the free museum, discover Chandler’s history and experience live music in a relaxed setting.
This performance is one of three Concert Truck stops that bring music to unexpected places throughout Chandler.
Susan Zhang | Artistic Director, Pianist
Acclaimed for her “astounding musical authority” (Columbia Free Times), pianist Susan Zhang made her orchestral debut at age twelve with the Augusta Symphony. Since then, she has performed as a soloist with orchestras across the Southeast and appeared at venues throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
An award-winning pianist and graduate of the Eastman School of Music, Peabody Conservatory and the University of South Carolina, Susan has also appeared at renowned festivals including Pianofest in the Hamptons and the Banff Piano Master Class. She currently serves on the faculty of the Gilman School and Peabody Conservatory.
Alena Hove | Guest Violinist
Praised for her “rich, smooth tone” and “nuance and grace” (CityArts), violinist Alena Hove is known for her musical clarity and charismatic stage presence. She made her solo debut at age nine and has since performed with the Seattle Symphony, Pacific Symphony, Colburn Orchestra and numerous other ensembles.
Recent highlights include her Walt Disney Concert Hall debut with the Colburn Orchestra under Stéphane Denève, performances at the GRAMMY Museum and Thomas Mann House, and appearances with Camerata Pacifica and the Nevada Chamber Music Festival. Originally from Seattle, Alena studies at the Colburn Conservatory with renowned violinist and pedagogue Robert Lipsett.
