2019/2020 30th Anniversary Season

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance, Chandler Center for the Arts is proud to present an evening about Billy Strayhorn, pianist, composer and collaborator, who became essential to creating Duke Ellington's legendary sound. Experience a multi-media by Billy Strayhorn Songs, Inc. on the life and influence of Strayhorn, followed by a performance of his pivotal compositions by the Fred Forney Jazz Quartet.

Enjoy an exhibition of paintings created by Vision Kids students in the Take the A-Train: Jazz and Abstract Painting workshop, which explores freedom of expression through art and music.

This is a free event in our recital hall. Doors open one hour before show time, at 6 p.m.. All seats are no charge with general seating on a first-come-first-served basis. RSVP is recommended. Concessions, including beverages and light snacks, will be available for purchase.
