Part of a two-evening Mariachi Festival that helps celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, youth Mariachi and Folklórico groups from cities across the Southwest come together on the Mainstage to show off their musical and dancing talents. Participants in this performance showcase, featuring middle school to college-aged Mariachi and Folklórico groups, have spent the week perfecting their skills in a special Festival workshop during the week.
This year's showcase features Mariachi Corazón del Valle, a 10-member community-based youth mariachi group whose members made their start with C.A.L.L.E. de Arizona's Mariachi Workshops. Members of the group are now students at local colleges and universities and all are of Hispanic descent. The group has opened for Ramon Ayala, Yolanda Del Rio, Graciela Beltran, Mariachi Vargas and the legendary Los Tigres del Norte.
The Mariachi and Folklorico Festival is presented in partnership with C.A.L.L.E. de Arizona and Maestra Vanessa Ramirez.
