Enjoy this free concert for Jazz Appreciation Month celebrating America 250: the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence!
Quarteto Nuevo will be performing their Jazz Road Suite: Western States, exploring the connection of jazz to geographical and cultural locations, including compositions for Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming. The quartet merges classical music with folk, Latin, and jazz with razor-sharp precision enhanced by jazzy interludes.
Winners of the Beverly Hills National Auditions, Quarteto Nuevo’s master musicians create emotionally-charged soundscapes with instruments and sensibilities that represent very different world cultures. Their unique instrumentation – soprano saxophone/alto flute (Damon Zick), cello (Jacob Szekely), guitar (Kenton Youngstrom) and hand percussion (Felipe Fraga) – richly colors their wide-ranging repertoire.
Seats are limited at a first-come, first-served basis. An RSVP does not guarantee a seat during the event.
