A New Year Shaped by Music, Dance, and Storytelling

The new year takes shape at Chandler Center for the Arts with an eclectic mix of music, dance, and family programming running from January through May.

January begins with jazz saxophonist Kirk Whalum on January 16, joined by vocalist Jazzmeia Horn and singer-songwriter John Stoddart for an evening shaped by jazz, soul, and gospel traditions. On January 18, Go Your Own Way: Songs of Fleetwood Mac follows with faithful renditions of the band’s celebrated catalog, spanning decades of familiar hits.

February turns toward movement and storytelling. Ailey II returns on February 6, presenting work by emerging choreographers alongside repertory connected to the legacy of Alvin Ailey. On February 7, Grammy-winning artist Joss Stone appears in Less is More, a stripped-back performance centered on her voice and musical range. Science and exploration come into focus on February 13 as Chandler native Kobie Boykins presents Beyond Earth: The Quest for Life, examining the search for life beyond our planet. Valentine’s weekend continues with Sons of Serendip on February 14, followed by Walkin’ The Line: A Tribute to Johnny Cash on February 15. The month concludes on February 21 with The Canine Stars Stunt Dog Show, featuring trained rescue dogs performing agility and stunt routines for all ages.

March offers a broad spectrum of musical styles, beginning with The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra on March 1. Country artist Trisha Yearwood brings The Mirror Tour to the stage on March 6, followed by The United States Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus on March 7. Celtic Spells blends traditional music and dance on March 8, before local professional artists take the stage March 13-15 in Shrek the Musical. The month continues with guitarist Sue Foley on March 20, international ensemble Pink Martini on March 27, and Diva Legends on March 29, celebrating iconic female voices across generations.

The season moves into spring with The Doo Wop Project: Echoes on the Street on April 12, as Broadway veterans reinterpret classic doo-wop through a contemporary lens. On May 1, Camila Fernández brings a modern perspective to regional Mexican music, honoring family tradition while forging her own path. The season concludes May 9 with jazz guitarist and composer Pat Metheny, whose work invites listeners to slow down, listen closely, and stay present.

Chandler Center for the Arts continues to offer opportunities throughout the year for audiences of all ages and backgrounds to step away from routine, gather together, and let live performance shape how the year is experienced and remembered.
