Of all the things Americans have missed most during the COVID-19 pandemic, the thrill of a concert tops the list. In one survey of more than 2,000 adults, live music ranked number one on a list of the sounds they’ve missed most. It’s not surprising - after all, there’s nothing quite like the excited murmurs when the lights go down before a show, or the thrill of seeing your favorite musician take the stage. Human connection comes in the form of one thousand fans singing along to your favorite song, a stolen glance during a tender moment, friendships made during intermission, and a new way of seeing the world through music, movement, and the spoken word.

We’ve especially missed those moments of human connection at Chandler Center for the Arts. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that live performances - and all the joy they bring - are back! The spring performances in our 2021/2022 Season, released today, are specially curated to provide something for everyone, so we can all celebrate the return of live music.

“We are all so grateful for the dedicated support, patience and understanding the community has shown as we weathered the past year,” says Michelle Mac Lennan, General Manager of Chandler Center for the Arts. “During this time, we became keenly aware of how important the arts center is for our community. It is a place to celebrate, to gather together and to experience the art of human expression.

Since October 2020, the Center has presented select socially distanced events for up to 50 patrons. The CCA is working closely with city government, public health officials, and the Chandler Cultural Foundation to ensure a safe return to regular live programming.

“Our patrons, volunteers and staff are our highest priority,” says Mac Lennan. “While we have missed seeing everyone and we couldn’t be more excited about returning to live performances, we are making all decisions with safety in mind.”

While the Chandler Center for the Arts has been closed to the public, staff have been busy with improvements to the space to make the patron experience even better. From renovations to our gallery to new rigging and lighting in the intimate Bogle Theatre, the Center will be ready for patrons to once again enjoy our building.

“This time has been difficult, but it has given all of us the time to reflect on what is important for a full, well-lived life, and we are proud to open the doors to celebrate with you and reconnect,” says Mac Lennan.

Chandler Center for the Arts is thrilled to announce spring 2022 performances that include songstress Storm Large, the incredible DRUMLine Live!, celtgrass masters We Banjo 3, ballet sensations Les Ballets Trockaderos de Monte Carlo and many more!
