Local vocalists Kristen Drathman and Kyle Sorrel perform the songs of Carole King and James Taylor, two of the most celebrated and quintessential singer-songwriters of our time. About Kristen Drathman
Kristen is an Arizona native who has a Bachelor’s degree in Music Theater from Arizona State University (Cum Laude); Trained classically with renowned voice teacher Dr. Judith Cloud and has been honored to sing all over the world. The ’92 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, and the Brooklyn Conservatory Summer Opera Festival are a few favorites. She has also performed with the Phoenix Symphony singing as the female soloist in A Salute to the Tony’s with Conductor Lawrence Golan. Kristen has performed in several of Phoenix Theatre’s productions including Swing!, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Cole!, I Love a Piano, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee to name just a few. Kristen has been teaching private voice and acting for over 20 years, with a studio of more than 50 students, ranging in age from 7-60. When not busy at “Play,” Kristen enjoys spending time with her sweet husband Lou and two sweet daughters - Shea and Emme.
About Kyle Sorrell
A singer/songwriter from Phoenix, Kyle currently performs as both a solo musician and with his band The Bonnie Boat at clubs, restaurants, and resorts across the valley. As an actor/musician Kyle and his guitar have appeared in numerous stage productions at The Phoenix Theatre Company (Once, Million Dollar Quartet, Mamma Mia, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Southwest Shakespeare Company (Romeo and Juliet, As You Like It), and Childsplay (The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, Wonderland: Alice's Rock and Roll Adventure). His award-winning original compositions have been featured at Childsplay, Southwest Shakespeare Company, and Black Theatre Troupe.
